Laurel Burch was an American artist, designer, and businesswoman, born and raised in California.She began her jewelry making career at the young age of 14.  She scoured junkyards to find metals to hammer into jewelry and went on to launch her business, Laurel Burch Artworks.  She later began creating rich and vibrant colored paintings and was commissioned by restaurants, businesses, and private collectors.  After her death in September 2007, her bags and other Laurel Burch branded items have become very collectible.
