A veritable bounty of beautiful bays call the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary home. And there's a wide range of backgrounds among them. Some were rounded up from BLM or state lands, some are failed BLM adoptions. Others were lucky enough to be born here.
But they all have one thing in common...they need a human friend and a new name to go with the freedom they now have here at the Sanctuary. Won't you become their Forever or For Season Friend today and help them live out the rest of their lives in unmolested freedom?
(Any names listed here are the ones they came with)

This just is not possible without the generous support of our donors! When you become a Four Season to one (or more) of our horses, your annual donation of $600 will help provide hay, energy cake, mineral blocks, and water to your horse! And you get the opportunity to name your horse! We will do our best to keep track of your horse throughout the vast Sanctuary acreage and provide you with a photo of your horse, a certificate and more along with a receipt for your annual donation for tax purposes.
A Forever Friend also helps the horse they name stay healthy, happy and free for a one time donation of $5000. We will do our best to keep track of your horse throughout the vast Sanctuary acreage and provide you with a photo of your horse, a certificate and more along with a receipt for your annual donation for tax purposes.
Be sure to let us know which mustang you are naming...and their new name!
(While we do not intentionally breed here at the Sanctuary, nature manages to find a way.)
