The Road to Freedom is
Paved with Hay!
It’s that time of the year when the sun turns all the grass brown and the wind blows the dirt across the prairie. No matter what the temperature or condition of our land and grass, our beautiful horses need to eat and stay healthy to survive our changing South Dakota weather.

Right now, the rain has helped grow the grass that currently covers the range, but soon the hot summer sun will whither the grass to brown and what's left won't supply the mustangs with the nutritious feed that they need. To supplement this lack, the ranch crew drives the tractor, the 2-bale trucks and ATVs to carry hay & cake to the herds in the canyon, on the wild side, the boulder field and the home range everyday day.

Due to the second year of severe drought, the wild horses need your help. Our current hay bill is topping $704,000, which averages out to be approximately $1,000 per horse per year, and we will soon have to buy more hay to prepare for the upcoming winter months. Please help us with the yearly hay fund so we can help our horses survive the hot summers & cold winters here on the plains of South Dakota.
Thunder...
You will feel them before you hear them. You will hear them before you see them. There on the horizon, stretch the sources of the thunder. Neither men nor machines nor the timeless rumblings of a prairie storm. They are the wild mustangs, and they are home at last!
Call 605-745-5955 to schedule your tour in the Feed Truck out to see the mustang herds Monday-Friday at 9am.
The fee is $350 per person plus tax.
