Wild Side Orphaned Foal

Wild Side Orphaned Foal

This filly was found with a group of mares on the wild side of the Sanctuary, but none of the mares were her mother, none of them had any milk to nurse the newborn.  Time was taken to scan the area looking for the new mother who should have been calling for her foal.

She is now safe in a small corral near the offices.  Some mares are in the neighboring corrals, including Catalpa and her filly.  Office and ranch staff are making sure that buckets of replacement milk are served at least 8 times a day.  Great care is being taken to give her attention, gentle touches, soft words, and playful energy.

She will live a good and long life here.  Your support as a Four Season Friend or Forever Friend can provide her with a name.  Your donations will make sure she has all the supplemental milk and foal feed her body needs to grow strong.  Your help will make sure that she can live her life on her terms wherever she chooses within the boundaries of the Sanctuary – even returning to the wild side if she desires when she is a bit older.
