Horses Helping Kids...An exciting opportunity for horse ownership for area 4-H Youth An exciting new program for horse ownership available to area 4-H youth has just been announced. Dayton Hyde and Susan Watt, owners of Cheyenne Canyon Paints and Quarter Horses located at the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, have been raising quality ranch horses for over twenty years. Their horses are raised on the open range in the School of Hard Rocks. Top bloodlines, great color, good minds and the heart to win give these young horses the ability to go from the ranch to arena competitions. The Horses Helping Kids Program has a select group of yearlings and two year old AQHA and APHA horses available to area 4-H youth. These young horses are just waiting to show their new owners the potential of their breeding. To qualify for ownership of one of our select group of young horses the 4-H member must fulfill a few requirements: Be an active 4-H member. Come to the Sanctuary for a visit to see the available horses. Enter the Horses Helping Kids Program with parental approval. Have the desire and financial ability to provide proper horse care at their home. Prepare and submit to the Horses Helping Kids Program an essay on “Why I would like to be selected for the Horses Helping Kids Program.” Participate in the 4-H Horse Project this year. Show their horse in at least one approved Horse Event. After six months of taking care of their horse from the Horses Helping Kids Program, and with approval from both the 4-H member’s parents and Dayton Hyde and Susan Watt, the ownership papers of the horse will transfer to the 4-H member. If you are an active 4-H member and are interested in the Horses Helping Kids Program, give us a call at 605-745-7494 today and set up a time for a visit. Gentling your wild mustang dvds Click here |
